Bali Sate Sticks
 

Heat a wok and add a little oil, add red chili slices, shrimp paste, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and lime juice and bring to boil being careful not to burn. Add coconut milk and mix well simmering but not bringing to the boil.

Cool the mixture and put in large bowl.  Add the beef cubes, cover and place in refrigerator overnight.

Thread beef onto skewers and add vegetable and sesame oil mixture to the remaining sauce mixture in bowl.

Place skewers on a hot bbq preferably over charcoal, or in a pan on stove.  Brush with sauce mixture and cook until golden brown.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds to garnish and serve with a dipping sauce.
